A Wonderful Weekend

     I had a very nice Thanksgiving.  My family ( Dad, Mom, Kaila, and JennaFaye) and I spent this Thanksgiving together and had a delicious meal that my Mom had prepared for us to enjoy.  It was a very tasty. 
     Jenna and I put up the Christmas tree after the Thanksgiving dinner.  We decorated it with beautiful ornaments, yummy candy canes, and a gorgeous angel topper.  The tree looks beautiful!  It was fun decorating the tree with my sister.
     That evening, my older sister, Kaila, bought the Christmas Classics movies, and we all watched them together.  It was nice.  We had a great Thanksgiving.
     On Friday, or Black Friday, Mom, Jenna, and I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and went Christmas shopping.  It was a blast!  Although, as much fun as it was, shopping for each other and getting each other's gifts, I don't think I will get up at 4:00 a.m. and go shopping again next year when I can sleep in!  I think I can wait til a little closer to Christmas and get some good deals and get some stuff on sale.  I can avoid the long lines and still be able to find the presents I need on sale a whole lot closer to the holidays.  It was fun, though.
     On Friday evening, Mom took Dad and I downtown to see the " Lighting of the Christmas Tree", or something like that.  We had hot cocoa and watched the boat parade down on the Tennessee River.  It sure was pretty.  Seeing all those Christmas lights on the boats made me smile.  We walked around a little and took some pictures.  Later, the show came on.  We watched that for a bit.  The Singing Santa was supposed to come up and sing. We waited and waited for him, but we were sooo cold and decided to head back to the car.  We knew he would be coming up, but we decided not to stay for him, though.  We all said, "He's taking too long, and we're freeeeezing.  Let's just head home now".  So we did.  When we got home, we saw the fireworks that were supposed to go off.  We could see them through our window.  It was a really cool night with my parents and family.
     Today, we are just hanging out at home and enjoying our down time.  It's really, really nice to relax after a splendid Thanksgiving.  It was a great "weekend", and we had a wonderful time together enjoying one another and each other's company.  We thank our God for being so good to us and giving me a Christian family, great friends, and a comfortable place that I can call home.  I give myself to Him, the ever Providing God.
